Defu Organic Pet Food to be Distributed in The UK

Puddle Pet Care has announced a partnership with German pet food manufacturer Defu to distribute its range of 100% certified organic pet foods in the UK. The company’s raw ingredient suppliers are members of the association Demeter who practice not only organic, but bio-dynamic farming. Such carefully produced ingredients guarantee quality well above the minimum requirements for an organic product.

The Defu pet food range is not only free from chemical fertilizers and pesticides, it is also ecologically-friendly, free from factory farmed meat, free of wheat and has exceptionally good palatability. The food is enhanced with natural herbs and vegetables and is correctly balanced for a pet’s life stage. A range of complete premium dry dog food and a snack product are the first Defu products to be made available in the UK.

Defu pet food is a brand by Demeter-Felderzeugnisse GmbH. Demeter-Felderzeugnisse was founded in 1971 as a producers’ association. Since launched by the company in 2006, Defu pet food has become established in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and France and is being introduced to several other European countries. UK distributor Puddle Pet Care is an established pet industry supplier with experience of dealing with UK pet owners. Defu use agricultural produce from sources committed to ecologically-friendly methods using special preparations to help improve soil quality and increase fertility. Bio dynamic farmers respect nature. They house animals appropriately with room to move, fresh air, care and attention. Additives and prophylactic medication such as antibiotics or hormones are taboo. Long term crop rotation and careful soil cultivation produces high quality crops without the use of pesticides or artificial fertilizers.

Defu Adult food is a complete dry kibble (23% raw protein) available in 1kg, 4kg and 12.5kg packs. The food is also available in Junior which is higher in protein (26% raw protein) and higher in mineral content for growth and vitality. Defu Senior (20% raw protein) is also sold in 1kg, 4kg and 12.5kg and is a specially adapted recipe for the changing needs of older dogs (also a suitable diet for overweight dogs). All foods contain pure poultry, fine vegetables and herbs and are strictly controlled and certified 100% organic.

Defu food has a high acceptance rate and is easily digested to provide trouble free feeding. Ingredients include, organically produced maize, poultry meal, oatmeal, rice meal, carrots, leeks, garlic, thyme, rosemary and parsley. The food is FREE from factory farmed meat, pesticides or shelf-life enhancers, and contains no genetically-modified organisms, no artificial flavourings, no chemical preservatives, colours or aromas and no wheat or soya.
