Key industry personnel from around the world travelled to Interzoo in Nuremberg a day early to attend a Pet Retailer conference held by the CASCO International ‘Think Tank Team’. The conference was predominantly a networking event, with a great deal of interaction between non-competitive parties. Over 30 attendees, representing thousands of retail stores around the world, gathered in Nuremberg to share International pet and aquatic retailing knowledge. The theme of the conference was ‘Futurology’ and how it relates to the pet industry and specifically to the display of livestock.

The highlight of the 21st of May conference was a presentation from VIP International speaker Richard Lamb, from Trendwatcher. He spoke about his predictions for future trends around the globe and how they might influence pet retailing. Richard Lamb facilitated a group brainstorming session searching for new trends and product ideas to inspire customers. How to gain new and dedicated pet and aquatic customers and developing their interests for many years to come was high on the agenda.

After lunch small groups of attendees grouped together to discuss fresh ideas and concepts, which were later presented to the group as a whole. This new concept in International networking was incredibly useful for everybody attending as well as being an enjoyable sociable event!

For the first time in Nuremberg, the CASCO ‘Think Tank Team’ have joined with top retailers from the UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, France, Portugal, Italy, Denmark, Germany, Czech republic, and even as far a field as Australia. Representatives from major pet and aquatic retailers such as Petco attended the conference from The States, Pets At Home from the UK and Pet World from Ireland. Zooland, Koelle-Zoo, and Zoodom were just some of the other retail groups represented at the pre-Interzoo conference. The conference showed how extremely progressive CASCO are by moving products forward to suit ever-changing needs.

The day after the CASCO conference, at the Interzoo show, the company showed impressive examples of aquarium display units and ‘in store’ animal housing. New innovations where unveiled at the show including the use of LED display lighting and the company’s use of LCD TV Screens in display aquariums.
