Sky Pet Products is a new partner company to Sky Birds Sales Ltd with a large portfolio of top of the range products on offer from the start. Sky Pet Products official launch is at GLEE 2008.  Sky Pet Products has been set up as the exclusive UK distributor of the extensive Montana Cages range and the top quality Wallace and Jones range of traditional handcrafted pet beds. There is no softly softly approach with this launch, taking the bull by the horns the company have invested big and really gone for it! 

From a company known for innovation and style, comes a new range of freestanding display tanks from CASCO Europe. The unique curves of these tanks creates an eye-catching as well as a practical focal point for any aquarium store.  The new Curved Tanks from CASCO are free standing with light systems to create a stunning display. Taking an old concept and formalising it into a smart, easy to use and dedicated system, shop-fitting experts CASCO have just started integrating Maturation Systems into aquarium store design. This is a totally new innovation from CASCO.

In the past it was not uncommon for retailers to supply some dirty gravel or filtration media from their filter system to customers purchasing a new aquarium. The idea was to inoculate the new aquarium with the beneficial bacteria required to break down the fish waste and help avoid problems associated with ‘new tank syndrome’. CASCO have now perfected the execution of this concept by designing a dedicated and practical system!

Key pet and aquatic brands, including Mikki, Nylabone, Superpet and Blagdon will be represented at GLEE again this year by industry giant Interpet. The company’s publishing division will also have a significant presence at the show along with an array of aquatic products under the Interpet name itself. After a busy year of development, the company looks forward to presenting the trade with exciting new lines across many product areas. Trixie have launched something very different by way of an impressive and novel Bike Trailer for dogs to ride in. The trailer is available in 2 sizes. The smaller trailer 43 x 51 x 66cm is red and black in colour and carries up to a max weight of 30kg. The larger trailer 55 x 65 x 85cm is blue and black and carries up to 40kg. The Bike Trainer provides comfort and security for old or injured dogs allowing them to join in outdoor excursions.

June 22nd and 23rd saw the second Open House show held at Trixie’s head office in South Willesborough in Kent. Customers and potential customers were invited to view racks of new Trixie lines, collect the company’s bumper new colour catalogue and take advantage of discounts, promotions and generous hospitality. Many retailers, some of who where new to Trixie, took advantage of the event. The company opened new accounts and introduced new lines to existing customers.

A totally unique range of dog toys, sold under the Chuckit brand, has just become available. The toys are made from a combination of memory foam and tooth-rugged nylon giving them superior flight in the air and high floatation in water. Certain areas on the toys are rubber lined to provide grip. Because of the materials used and the design, these toys are soft for a dog’s mouth, but also tough and strong. Memory foam has the ability to produce a light, soft and buoyant toy. The material is also durable and keeps its shape. All the new Amphibious toys are sold as unsinkable.

Mini-Aquariums, by David E. Boruchowitz is a new 256-page hard backed book for those interested in the special challenges and rewards of keeping not just small but ‘mini’ aquariums. These mini or nano set-ups take up a small amount of desk or counter space and include everything on a small scale. Advances in multi-stage filtration and compact lighting are making it easier to maintain a thriving freshwater or marine aquarium, but on a miniature scale. In a similar way to the bonsai tree, hobbyists are developing a special interest in the magical and condensed nano concept, and this book provides a trusted reference.
